Social Media Guidelines
Judo Bank Pty Ltd (Judo and we) uses social media to provide news, education and support to our customers and communities.
We welcome all enquiries, questions and feedback on social media, and we take your suggestions, compliments and concerns seriously. The content you submit to our social media pages is recorded to ensure that we can provide you with the best service and meet our compliance obligations.
These guidelines apply to anyone who would like to comment, post, tag, mention or message on our pages.
Our social media accounts (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube) are managed by a dedicated team of Judo employees. Comments and posts on our pages are monitored and reviewed to ensure they comply with our policies. We also review post commentary to ensure that it is relevant and respectful to our virtual community.
To ensure all visitors to our social media pages feel respected and safe, we may moderate our social media pages and comments sections to remove inappropriate content. We reserve the right to remove any participant posts at our discretion that don’t adhere to our guidelines, including any that are:
- Abusive
- Offensive
- Defamatory
- Hateful
- Unlawful
- Breaching yours or someone else’s confidentiality
- False, misleading or deceptive including posts that we reasonably believe to be likely to be false, misleading or deceptive
- Trolling or deliberate disruption of discussion
- Spam
- Uploads or attached files that contain viruses, corrupted files or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of a computer or communications device
- Link baiting (embedding a link in your post to draw traffic to another site)
- Subject to legal, regulatory or ombudsman proceedings
- Defamatory of others, including any of Judo Bank’s employees
We also reserve the right to block anyone who breaches these guidelines and/or report them to the relevant social media platform and other authorities at our sole discretion.
Please note that posts from participants on our social media pages do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Judo, nor does Judo confirm their validity or accuracy.
Generally, the information we provide on social media is factual only. Sometimes we may give advice that is general in nature. To the extent that any advice is provided, it is general information only and should not be considered as a comprehensive statement on any matter and should not be relied upon as such. Judo will not use social media to give you any advice that takes into account your personal circumstances.
When getting in touch with us via social media, keep the following in mind:
Please take precautions to protect your security when interacting with public pages. You should never include personal or sensitive information (such as your bank account details, birthday, home address, phone number, driver’s licence, or tax file number) on public posts.
We will only ever ask for partial information from you to assist us with your enquiry, such as your full name, postcode and contact number via private message. If you receive an unsolicited request for personal or sensitive information, please do not respond. Help us maintain your security by forwarding any such requests to fraud@judo.bank so it can be reviewed by our security team.
Private messages or direct messages sent to us via our social media pages are not visible to the general public visiting our page, only by Judo team members looking after your queries. However, you should never share bank account details, customer IDs or other formal identification with anyone through any social media channels, public or private.
When sending us a private message or direct message, for security reasons please only provide your contact details, a summary of your query, and a postcode or account name (if we request it), so we can arrange a call-back. When we call back, we’ll ask you to confirm your identity to make sure we’re speaking to the right person.
Please note that you're subject to the terms and conditions of Judo’s Privacy Policy and general Terms of Use, as well as the relevant social media platform’s terms of service and privacy policy whenever you interact with our social media pages.

Social Media Privacy
Our processing of your personal data/information (which includes collection, use, sharing, storage and other activities involving personal data/information) is regulated by certain laws. Details of these laws can be found in our Privacy Policy.
We may use your social media details and any contributions you make to us via social media, such as but not limited to posting on our pages, commenting on our posts or walls, tagging us in tweets or on Instagram, messaging us, engaging in a chat session with us or using a feedback or review function, to help resolve your enquiries, investigate concerns, for internal training purposes and to help us develop insights and conduct data analysis to improve the delivery of products and services, enhance our customer relationships and effectively manage risks, or other business purposes.
We may also consider your contributions (such as, but not limited to, comments, images, videos, links or other materials) for inclusion in material we develop for external distribution or publication to promote Judo. If we do consider your contributions for this purpose, we will contact you to seek your explicit consent in relation to using those specific comments, images, videos, links or other materials before using them.
We receive general grouped statistics on the impact of posts, ads, tweets, videos and other content we create and place on social media, including volumes of reach, views, link clicks, likes, shares and retweets. This data is grouped and not identifiable to any individual who has interacted with our material on social media. This data is used to improve your experience on the social media platforms and our products and services.
If you choose to make a contribution on our social media profiles or address material to us in social media (such as, but not limited to, posting on our pages, commenting on our posts or walls, tagging us in tweets or on Instagram, messaging us, engaging in a chat session with us or using a feedback or review function), you are acknowledging that we may acknowledge or respond to your contribution, and that we can contact you through social media to the extent made possible by the social media platform's functionality and your settings on that platform.
Important information
Information provided by us on our social media pages and all matters relating to them are governed by and are to be construed according to the laws applicable in Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia. The information on the social media pages may not satisfy the laws of any other country besides Australia. Unless otherwise stated expressly, products and services referred to on our social media pages are only available in Australia to Australian residents in accordance with Australian law, only.
All images and media we publish on our social media pages are used with permission.
Judo is not responsible for and does not endorse or guarantee content, availability, viewpoints, products or services that are offered or expressed in posts by others on our pages.
So far as permitted by law, neither Judo nor any of its directors, employees and associates gives any warranty or representation (either express or implied) of the reliability or accuracy of the information given on Judo’s social media pages nor accepts any responsibility arising in any other way including by reason of negligence for, errors in, or omissions from, any information given by Judo on social media pages and does not accept any liability for any loss or damage, however caused, as a result of any person relying on any information on Judo’s social media pages.
